4-day tour from Agadir to the Merzouga desert and Marrakech: a private, tailor-made trip with your own driver and a flexible itinerary.
From the Atlantic coast to the Sahara and on to Marrakech, across the Anti-Atlas, the Draa Valley and the gorges.
Day 1: Agadir – Tazenakht – Draa Valley – Agdz
Pick-up at Agadir airport or your hotel and a drive across the Anti-Atlas. Taliouine, Morocco’s saffron capital, and Tazenakht, known for hand-made carpets. Arrival in the Draa Valley and a night in Agdz with dinner and breakfast.
Day 2: Agdz – Rissani – Merzouga – camel ride and desert night
East through vast landscapes and kasbah villages to Rissani, the last market for desert people. Then the red dunes and Merzouga, where camels wait to take you to camp. Dinner, music around the fire and a sky full of stars.
Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate
Desert sunrise and a camel ride back. Palm groves, hidden kasbahs and mud-brick villages to Tinghir and the Todra Gorges, 300-metre cliffs above crystal-clear water. Then the Dades Gorges with their “monkey finger” rocks, the Valley of Damask Roses, Skoura and a night in Ouarzazate.
Day 4: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
A kasbah and, if you like, the studios of “Africa’s Hollywood”. Then Ait Ben Haddou, on the old salt route to Timbuktu and a Gladiator set, and the Tizi n’Tichka (2,260 m) through Berber villages. Arrival in the Marrakech medina in the evening.
