6-day tour from Casablanca to the desert: a private, tailor-made trip with your own driver and a flexible itinerary.
A compact private tour: imperial cities, a night among the Erg Chebbi dunes, the great gorges and the kasbahs on the way to Marrakech.
Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fes
Your driver picks you up at your hotel in Casablanca. A look at the city’s main sights, then a short tour of Rabat, Meknes and arrival in Fes. Night in a riad or hotel.
Day 2: Fes
Morocco’s oldest imperial city through narrow streets and alleys: the Royal Palace gate, the Mellah, the country’s first Jewish quarter (16th century), Al Qaraouiyine University, the tanneries, the Attarine madrasa and the mausoleum of Moulay Idriss. In the afternoon, craft cooperatives and a panoramic view over the medina. Night in a riad.
Day 3: Fes – Merzouga desert
Azrou and the cedar forest of the Barbary macaques, Midelt and the Ziz Valley, a stop in Erfoud and Rissani on the way to Merzouga. There we switch to camels (optional) with an experienced cameleer: about 90 minutes to camp, sunset over the dunes and dinner around the fire. Night in a Berber tent.
Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges
Sunrise over the dunes and back to a hotel to freshen up. After breakfast, Rissani and Tinghir to the Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest in Morocco. Lunch in the gorges and the Dades Valley with the rock formations known as “monkey fingers”. Dinner and night in the valley.
Day 5: Dades – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Kalaat M’Gouna and Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa”, with its film studios and kasbah. Then Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and over the High Atlas to Marrakech. Night in a traditional riad in the medina.
Day 6: Marrakech – Casablanca
A guided tour of Marrakech, the red city: the Majorelle Garden, the Koutoubia, the Saadian Tombs and the Bahia Palace. Free time, then back to Casablanca.
