10-day tour from Tangier to Marrakech
10-day tour from Tangier to Marrakech: a private, tailor-made trip with your own driver and a flexible itinerary.
Ten days to cross Morocco from north to south at an easy pace: the Rif, Fes, the Sahara, the kasbahs and Marrakech.
Day 1: Tangier – Cape Spartel – Chefchaouen
Pick-up at the port or airport and a visit to Cape Spartel, where the turquoise Atlantic meets the deep blue Mediterranean. Then through the Rif to Chefchaouen, a holy town with some twenty mosques and shrines and cobbled lanes. Night in a riad or hotel.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Fes
Free time in Chefchaouen, then on to Fes, the oldest imperial city, founded in the 8th century, with a medina where craftsmen still work in their traditional guild streets.
Day 3: Fes
A day in Morocco’s intellectual and craft capital, a jewel of the Arab world: palaces, souks and an intense way of life to discover with all your senses.
Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Across the Middle Atlas, home to semi-nomadic Berber shepherds, via Ifrane and the cedar forests with their monkeys. Then Errachidia, the Ziz gorges and valley, Erfoud and Merzouga. Night in a hotel.
Day 5: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi
A loop of the dunes: Merzouga’s two oases, the nomads, the Gnawa village of Khamlia and the Mifiss mines. In the afternoon, a camel ride to camp for sunset. A night in a tent among the dunes with a Berber dinner, music and stars.
Day 6: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades
Sunrise from the top of a dune. Rissani, heir to legendary Sijilmassa, the old capital of Tafilalet and cradle of the Alaouite dynasty, Erfoud and its fossil quarries, and the Todra Gorges, a paradise for climbers and hikers. Night in the Dades Valley.
Day 7: Dades – Kelaa M’Gouna – Skoura – Ouarzazate
The road of a thousand kasbahs, the Valley of Roses at Kelaa M’Gouna, the Skoura palm grove and the kasbah of Amridil, then Ouarzazate and the Taourirt kasbah. Night in a Berber village, with the chance of a Moroccan cooking class.
Day 8: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Visit Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO site, and return over the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 m). Arrival in Marrakech in the evening.
Day 9: Marrakech
A day in the red city: the Menara gardens, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia and Jemaa el-Fna square, a souk by day and a show by night. Night in a riad.
Day 10: Marrakech – airport
Breakfast, free time and transfer to the airport. End of our services.
This itinerary is tailor-made: any stop can be changed and we will gladly adapt it.
