With five days you explore southern Morocco without rushing. You also spend one night at a hotel by the dunes and another in a tent, deep in the desert. That is why this tour is perfect for enjoying Erg Chebbi at a calm pace.

Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades Valley

We pick you up at 8:00 at your hotel. First, we cross the Atlas over the Tizi n’Tichka, stopping for the views. Then we reach Ouarzazate, where you can visit the film studios. Next, we walk through the Skoura palm grove, an oasis full of hidden kasbahs. After that, we continue through the Valley of Roses. In the afternoon we reach the Dades Valley. Dinner and night by the river.

Day 2: Dades – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga

In the morning we head for Tinghir. Then we explore the Todra Gorges, 15 km from the town, and have lunch there. In the afternoon we cross the Tinejdad and Touroug palm groves. In Erfoud we visit a fossil-marble workshop. Finally, we reach the Merzouga dunes. Night at the hotel.

Day 3: Merzouga – Khamlia – night in the desert

After breakfast we take the big loop around the dunes by 4×4. First, we cross the nomad lands. Then we visit Khamlia, the Gnawa village, and the Mifiss mines. We also cross the desert plateaus. We return to the hotel around 3 pm. Then the dromedary caravan sets off into the dunes. Night in a tent, under the stars.

Day 4: Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Nkob – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate

We get up early to watch the sunrise from the top of a dune. Then we ride back to the hotel for breakfast. Next, we stop at Rissani souk, the largest in the south. After that, we follow the Draa Valley and its millions of palm trees. In the afternoon we reach Ouarzazate.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Tizi n’Tichka – Marrakech

After breakfast we visit the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a World Heritage Site. Then we cross the Tizi n’Tichka again, at 2,260 metres. It is the highest road pass in Morocco. Finally, we reach Marrakech at the end of the day.
