The most important thing is warm clothing. Even for one night in the desert in late December, we recommend thermal layers (top and leggings), a fleece, a windproof or down jacket, a scarf, hat and gloves. Otherwise, dress comfortably.

- Camera gear: protect it from sand with plastic bags or a sealed case.
- A torch or your phone light to find your way around the tents at night.
- Sunscreen and sunglasses: the sun is strong even in winter.
Is a trip to the Sahara worth it?
The Sahara, the largest hot desert in the world, stretches across around ten countries, including Morocco. For many travellers it is the highlight of their trip. Beyond the great orange dunes, southern Morocco offers stony plains, majestic mountains, green oases and spectacular gorges.
Seeing in the New Year under the desert stars is unforgettable. See our Morocco tours.
