3-day desert tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga via Zagora: a private, tailor-made trip with your own driver and a flexible itinerary.
Two deserts in three days: a night at a Zagora bivouac and one among the Erg Chebbi dunes, linked by the Dakar tracks.
Day 1: Ouarzazate – Agdz – Zagora
Pick-up at your hotel or riad and a tour of “Morocco’s Hollywood”: the Taourirt kasbah and the Atlas studios. The Anti-Atlas road to Agdz and the colours of the Draa oasis. Lunch in a Berber restaurant and arrival in Zagora, the “gateway to the desert”. At the bivouac, a dromedary ride for sunset, dinner around the fire with nomad songs and drums, and a night in a traditional tent.
Day 2: Zagora – Tafraoute – Ramlia – Dakar track – Ouzina – Khamlia – Merzouga
A journey through desert landscapes and small villages. Lunch in Tafraoute, then Ramlia and the Ouzina dunes. Visit the Gnawa village of Khamlia and its music, on to Merzouga. We swap the 4×4 for a dromedary for sunset among the dunes. Berber dinner with music and a night in a nomad tent.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate
Sunrise over the dunes, with their colours and shadows. Then Rissani, cradle of the Alaouite dynasty, and Erfoud with a fossil-marble workshop. A free walk in the Todra Gorges, lunch, and on through Kelaa M’Gouna, the rose town, and the Skoura palm grove along the road of a thousand kasbahs. Arrival in Ouarzazate and end of the tour.
