Argan oil is known as “liquid gold”. It is made from the kernels of the fruit of the argan tree, which grows almost exclusively in south-western Morocco. Since 1998 the argan forest has been a UNESCO biosphere reserve: the trees slow desertification and form a natural barrier between the desert and fertile land. In 2014 the traditional knowledge surrounding argan was recognised as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Ingredients that make the difference
Argan oil is rich in vitamin E, fatty acids and antioxidants, which is why it is so widely used in cosmetics. Here are its main uses:
Skin hydration
It keeps skin moisturised and soft, absorbs quickly and is not greasy. It can also be used on the face.
Hair conditioner
It adds softness and shine and helps reduce split ends.
Soft, glossy hair
After drying, simply work a couple of drops through your hair with your hands: it will be easier to comb and healthier.
On our tours to Essaouira and the south you can visit a women’s argan cooperative.
