This is a complete loop of Morocco that starts and ends in Marrakech. First, it follows the Atlantic coast up to Tangier and Chefchaouen. Then it goes through Fes, the Merzouga desert and the road of the kasbahs. At the end you have time for Marrakech and the Ouzoud waterfalls.

We meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel or riad. Depending on the time, you can take a first stroll around Jemaa el Fna square.

Day 2: Marrakech – Essaouira

After breakfast we drive to Essaouira, a fishing port with more than 6 km of beach. There you can see the harbour Skala, the Sea Gate and the fish auction. In the medina jewellers and woodworkers have their workshops, beneath walls lined with 16th and 17th-century cannons.

Day 3: Essaouira – Casablanca – Rabat

We follow the coast north. First, we take a panoramic tour of Casablanca. Then we reach Rabat, the capital. There we see the Royal Palace, the Mohammed V Mausoleum, the Hassan Tower and the Chellah necropolis.

Day 4: Rabat – Asilah

Day 5: Asilah – Tangier – Chefchaouen

First, we take a panoramic tour of Tangier. Then we head into the Rif and reach Chefchaouen in the afternoon. It is one of the most charming towns in the country, with cobbled lanes and shady little squares.

Day 6: Chefchaouen – Fes

You have the morning free to explore Chefchaouen. Then we continue to Fes, founded in the 8th century. It is the oldest imperial city in Morocco.

Day 7: Fes city tour

Today we spend the day in Fes, the country’s intellectual and craft capital. In its medina craftsmen still work in guilds, as they did centuries ago. Its palaces and madrasas are also stunning.

Day 8: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

We head into the Middle Atlas, land of Berber shepherds. First, we pass Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco”. Then we see the monkeys in the cedar forests. Next, we cross the High Atlas to Errachidia through the Ziz Gorges. Finally, we pass Erfoud and reach Merzouga. Night at a hotel by the dunes.

Day 9: Merzouga – nomads – Khamlia – night in Erg Chebbi

We drive an old Paris-Dakar Rally track. We visit nomad areas, the Gnawa village of Khamlia and the old Mifis mines. We return for lunch and a rest. In the afternoon we ride dromedaries across the dunes at sunset. Night in a tent with a Berber dinner, music and stars.

Day 10: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

We get up early for sunrise from a dune. Then we visit Rissani, heir to the ancient city of Sijilmassa. Next, we see fossil quarries in Erfoud. After that, we walk through the Todra Gorges. In the afternoon we reach the Dades Valley.

Day 11: Dades – Valley of Roses – Skoura – Ouarzazate

We follow the road of a thousand kasbahs. In Kelaa M’Gouna we see the rose fields, celebrated with a festival every May. Then we visit the Amridil kasbah in the Skoura palm grove. Next, we see the Taourirt kasbah in Ouarzazate. Night in a Berber village, where you can take a Moroccan cooking class.

Day 12: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
