7-day tour from Tangier: the Rif, the Atlantic coast and the imperial cities
7-day tour from Tangier: a private, tailor-made trip with your own driver and a flexible itinerary.
A tour of the north and the imperial cities without the desert: the Atlantic coast, Rabat, Marrakech, Fes and the blue city.
Day 1: Tangier – Cape Spartel – Caves of Hercules – Asilah
Pick-up at Tangier port and drive to Cape Spartel, where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic in a view of turquoise and deep blue. 5 km away are the Caves of Hercules, Tangier’s main attraction, whose opening to the sea is shaped like the map of Africa. Then Asilah, an Atlantic fishing village with beaches, a harbour and old ramparts, perfect for sunset. Dinner and night in Asilah.
Day 2: Asilah – Rabat
On to Rabat, the political capital: the ochre walls of the medina built by Sultan Yacoub el-Mansour, the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Royal Palace.
Day 3: Rabat – Marrakech
Marrakech, founded in 1062 by the first Almoravid emir Youssef Ibn Tachfin, is the “red city”. Everything revolves around Jemaa el-Fna square, a UNESCO Oral Heritage of Humanity since 2001: musicians, storytellers, snake charmers and, at sunset, hundreds of food stalls. Above it rises the 77-metre Koutoubia minaret, the model for Seville’s Giralda and Rabat’s Hassan Tower.
Day 4: Marrakech – Casablanca
Drive to Casablanca to see its main sights, above all the Hassan II Mosque. Dinner and night in a hotel.
Day 5: Casablanca – Fes
Arrival in Fes at midday. Through the Bab Boujloud gate into the medina of Fes el-Bali, a UNESCO site and one of the largest medieval cities in the world: the Bou Inania madrasa with its cedar wood and stucco, the Andalusian quarter with the Es-Sahrij madrasa, the Dar Batha palace and the Al Qaraouiyine mosque-university, founded in 859 by Fatima al-Fihri.
Day 6: Fes – Chefchaouen
Morning drive north into the Rif to Chefchaouen: Outa el-Hammam square, the Great Mosque with its octagonal minaret, the kasbah with its garden and museum and, outside the medina, the Ras el-Maa spring and the view over the town.
Day 7: Chefchaouen – Tangier
At the agreed time, transfer to Tangier port. End of our services.
This itinerary is tailor-made: any stop can be changed and we will gladly adapt it.
