4-day tour from Fes to Marrakech via the desert: a private, tailor-made trip with your own driver and a flexible itinerary.

This route crosses Morocco from north to south by way of the Merzouga desert. It also follows the Todra Gorges, the Dades Valley and the road of a thousand kasbahs. So it is the most complete way to travel from Fes to Marrakech in four days.

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

We leave Fes for Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco”. Then we stop in the Azrou forest to see the monkeys among the cedars. Next, we cross the Middle Atlas. After that, we follow the Ziz Valley, its gorges and Errachidia. Later we pass through Erfoud, the fossil capital. In the afternoon we reach Merzouga and enjoy the peace of the desert. Night at a guesthouse by the dunes.

Day 2: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi loop – night in the desert

After breakfast we drive one of the old Paris-Dakar Rally tracks. First, we visit nomad families and share tea with them. Then we see the oasis where the film “Sahara” was shot. We also visit Khamlia, the Gnawa village of sub-Saharan origin.

After lunch we swap the 4×4 for dromedaries. With them we cross the dunes for sunset. Tonight we sleep in tents, just like the Berbers. A Berber dinner, music and a sky full of stars.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

We get up early for sunrise in the desert. Then we ride back to the hotel for a shower and breakfast. Next, we go to Rissani, the cradle of the Alaouite dynasty. After that, we pass Erfoud, where you can see a fossil workshop. Later we cross the Tafilalt palm grove and visit the Todra Gorges. In the afternoon we reach the Dades Valley. Dinner and night at the hotel.

Day 4: Dades – Valley of Roses – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

We leave the Dades along the road of a thousand kasbahs. First, we cross the Valley of Roses. Then we reach the Skoura palm grove and its best-known kasbah. Next, we pass Ouarzazate and visit the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Finally, we cross the High Atlas and reach Marrakech, where we drop you at your accommodation.
