A trip to Morocco is not complete without the desert: head to Merzouga, with its orange dunes and dromedary caravans on the horizon.

For a night in the desert, by camel or on foot, sleeping under the stars, you go to the small village of Merzouga in the east of the country, near the Algerian border. From Marrakech it takes up to 10 hours by road, so it makes sense to plan a multi-day tour with stops at the best places along the way.
You can spend one to three nights in the desert, exploring the dunes by day and sleeping in a comfortable desert camp. We have several itineraries from Fes to Marrakech and from Marrakech to Fes with a night in the Sahara: for many travellers it is the highlight of the trip.
